On June 16th, 6 PM (ET) join the new ICCO AIRI Lecture about the world of Artificial Intelligence and its current and potential impact on our personal lives, our health and our jobs.

Thanks to the participation of two experts, we will be able to understand how this new technology will shape our future.

We will discover important applications in the Research and Healthcare sector with Dr. Paolo Bazzigaluppi, who is working on solutions for optimizing clinical trials and accelerating the discovery of new approaches for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders.

Dr. Mario Zucca will explain how the Business applications of Artificial intelligence can increase operational efficiencies and make business decisions and customer services more effective and faster.

The webinar is part of the ICCO AIRI Lectures series, educational seminars organized in collaboration with AIRIcerca, the Embassy of Italy to Canada, Consulate General of Italy in Toronto, Italian Trade Agency, Istituto Italiano di Cultura and Italian National Tourist Board.

The event is free and open to all but registration is required: Iscrizione a webinar – Zoom

Dr. Paolo Bazzigaluppi – PhD in Neuroscience

Paolo Bazzigaluppi is an Italian researcher with a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the Erasmus University Rotterdam. During his postgraduate training, Dr. Bazzigaluppi specialized in brain imaging, electrophysiology, and signal processing to understand and model how brain metabolism changes in different pathological contexts. This line of research is inspired by the concept that studying brain metabolism before the appearance of clinical symptoms will allow the identification of novel biomarkers for neurodegenerative disorders.

Currently, Dr. Bazzigaluppi collaborates, here in Toronto, with public and private stakeholders engaged in clinical and preclinical neuroscientific research. He conceptualizes, designs, and drives the development of innovative AI-based software solutions for the analysis of multimodal biomedical data, aimed at the identification of biomarkers for neurodegenerative disorders and optimization of clinical trials.

Dr. Mario Zucca

After a M.Sc. in Electronic Engineering, Mario Zucca got a Ph.D. in Economics with a dissertation on virtual agents and how it can be possible to combine the most advanced machine-learning algorithms along with the consumer theory, to predict how an organization can benefit from adopting virtual assistant to simplify common daily tasks.

Inspired by a strong technical background, Mario Zucca has been mainly involved in designing and developing innovative software products with high technological content in complex environments. His projects are still active on the Italian market.

He has experience in the management and design of application, modernization, creation of data warehouse and business intelligence systems, using complex machine learning and forecasting systems. He is an expert of Big Data and Cloud computing application with the first active project of national importance in Italy on big data in Healthcare.
